چکیده

S16 ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND / VOLUME 6 / SUPPLEMENT 1 / AUGUST 2017 for cases which require immunohistochemistry, for example, neuroendocrine tumor, lymphoma, and mediastinal tumors. (3) EUS is the most important tool for pancreatic cystic lesions. (4) EUS is an important tool for diagnosis of CBD and gallbladder masses. EUS gives accurate diagnosis in gastric submucosal lesions, infiltrative gastric wall lesions, and retroperitoneal masses. Conclusions: EUS has changed the paradigm in management of difficult to treat diseases such as pancreatic masses, cystic lesions of the pancreas, and lymphadenopathy in Western India. Two cases of pancreatic abscess associated with penetration to the gastrointestinal tract during treatment using endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage.

Of pancreatic pseudocysts, approximately 30% are complicated by abscess formation, perforation into the abdominal cavity, penetration to the gastrointestinal tract, or bleeding. We report two cases of pancreatic abscess complicating severe acute pancreatitis in which the abscess penetrated to the gastrointestinal tract during the course of treatment with endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided pseud...

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage as an alternative to percutaneous drainage and surgical bypass.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography had been a treatment modality of choice for both benign and malignant biliary tract obstruction for more than half century, with a very high clinical success rate and low complications. But in certain circumstances, such as advanced and locally advanced pancreatobiliary malignancies (pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, ampullary tumor) and tight...

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage versus percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage after failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography: a meta-analysis

The failure rate of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for biliary cannulation is approximately 6%-7% in cases of obstructive jaundice. Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) is the procedure of choice in such cases. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage (EGBD) is a novel technique that allows biliary drainage by echoendoscopy and fluoroscopy using a stent from th...

Conversion of transpapillary drainage to endoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy and gallbladder drainage in a case of malignant biliary obstruction with recurrent cholangitis and cholecystitis (with videos)

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage (EUS-BD) has been increasingly reported as an alternative to percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage in failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Moreover, conversion to EUS-BD can be a good alternative when transpapillary biliary drainage is technically possible but complicated by cholangitis because EUS-BD enables one-step internal...

Pancreatico-Colonic Fistula after Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Cyst Drainage for Pancreatic Pseudocyst: Report of Three Cases

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided cyst drainage is increasingly performed in the treatment of pancreatic pseudocysts and walled-off pancreatic necrosis. We have experienced three cases of colonic fistula after endoscopic ultrasound-guided cyst drainage. Case #1 was a patient with walled-off pancreatic necrosis, in which a fistula into the transverse colon occurred as a late complication of endoscopi...
